South Tyrolean Archaeological Museum

More than 5,000 years ago, a man ascended the icy heights of the Schnals Valley glacier and died there.

In 1991, his mortal remains - together with his clothing and equipment, mummified and frozen - were accidentally discovered. This was an archaeological sensation providing a unique glimpse into the life of the man of the Chalcolithic Period.
The mummy has been accessible to the public in the South Tyrolean Archaeological Museum since March 1998.

MMM - Messner Mountain Museum

Mountains have the power to fascinate people and this is what Messner's Mountain Museum Firmian wants to suggest.

Reinhold Messner tells about the importance of the mountains for humanity in the old walls of Sigmundskron Castle, completed with a modern structure made by glass and steel.

The MMM Firmian focuses on mountains in art and on the history of alpinism.

The church steeple which is still situated in the middle of the lake is the only thing left of former Curon.
